Fathers & Families 5K Fun Run

Lace up for a meaningful run at the Fathers & Families 5K Fun Run, taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in scenic Fredericksburg, VA. This inspiring 5K event, hosted by A Father's Legacy, Inc., serves a powerful purpose: to champion the essential role fathers play in families and communities, raising vital awareness and support for programs empowering both young and mature fathers. Runners, walkers, and strollers are all welcome, making it a truly inclusive and family-friendly occasion to celebrate Father's Day weekend.

The course, beginning and ending at the beautiful Pratt Park at 120 River Road, offers a blend of paved and gravel paths as it winds along the Rappahannock River and behind the YMCA. Expect a generally flat route with a few small hills to keep things interesting. To keep participants hydrated, two water stations will be available along the 5K course at approximately mile markers 1 and 2.1, with Gatorade also offered at some locations.

Participants can look forward to a vibrant race day atmosphere, including music, a photographer capturing the memorable moments, and a post-race award ceremony recognizing the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in age groups (29 & Under, 30-49, and 50 & Over). All registered runners will receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt (for early registrants), and post-race refreshments, with additional food available for purchase from a Shawarma Rama food truck. Packet pickup is convenient, with options on Thursday and Friday before race day, or on race morning starting at 7:00 AM at Pratt Park, ahead of the 8:00 AM 5K start. Typical race day conditions in mid-June for Fredericksburg feature highs around 84F and lows around 61F, with about an 18% chance of precipitation, providing generally warm and pleasant running weather.
