Fido Fest 5K and Fun Run

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and leash up your best canine companion for the Fido Fest 5K and Fun Run, returning to Newnan, GA, on September 26, 2026! This beloved event, celebrating its 9th year, offers a fantastic opportunity for both two-legged and four-legged athletes to hit the pavement. Choose your challenge with either the chip-timed 3.1-mile (5K) race, which is a certified Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event, or the untimed 1-mile Fun Run, perfect for families and pups to enjoy at their own pace. The course, set within Ashley Park, features a road terrain with some gentle hills, providing an engaging experience for all participants.

The Fido Fest is more than just a race; it's a full-fledged celebration of community and canine companionship, all while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the event benefit Hearts 'n Homes Rescue of Coweta County, dedicated to finding loving homes for dogs and puppies in need. Typical race day conditions in late September in Newnan bring pleasant highs around 83°F and lows around 61°F, with only a 10% chance of rain, making for ideal running weather. Well-behaved and vaccinated dogs are welcomed to join the fun, with water and waste bags readily available along the course.
