Fireworks 5K and 10K

Embrace the spirit of Independence Day with the Fireworks 10K, set to ignite your holiday weekend on July 4, 2026, in scenic Fairfax Station, VA. This annual event, organized by Bishop's Events, invites runners to experience a unique blend of paved roads and natural trails winding through the picturesque Burke Lake Park. The out-and-back course begins and ends on a half-mile stretch of paved road, transitioning to well-maintained trails with some roots and rolling ups and downs, offering a slightly more challenging experience than a typical road race without being overly technical. Expect shaded sections and lovely views of the lake as you conquer the miles.

The Fireworks 10K promises a festive atmosphere, celebrating the national holiday while benefiting the Semper Fi & America's Fund. Runners receive a technical event shirt and a finisher's medal, with swag consistently improving over the years. Aid stations are strategically placed along the 10K course at approximately miles 0.5, 3.1, and 5.7, providing water, Gatorade, and post-race snacks like chips, cookies, and fruit.
