Lace up for the ultimate test of endurance and mental fortitude at FORGE, a unique 50-mile backyard ultra set against the scenic backdrop of Anacortes, Washington, on June 6, 2026. This isn't just another race; it's a twelve-hour challenge where runners complete a demanding 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour, until all twelve loops are conquered for a total of 50 miles. The course itself navigates very flat dirt roads, featuring a small out-and-back section, though runners should be prepared for one softer, sandy segment and a complete lack of shade on the route. Typical race day conditions in early June offer comfortable highs around 69°F and lows near 50°F, with a low 9% chance of precipitation.
What makes FORGE truly exceptional is its captivating backyard ultra format, stripping endurance down to its core by challenging both physical stamina and mental resilience. The "village" at the starting area, located on trails and dirt roads south of Swinomish Casino, serves as the central hub for runners to recover and prepare between loops, fostering a strong sense of community and shared struggle. While there are no aid stations along the course, participants will find ample water, Tailwind Nutrition Endurance Fuel, and a variety of "fun and run friendly food items" readily available at the starting area before and after each loop.
FORGE promises a deeply memorable experience, whether you aim to complete all twelve loops or challenge your personal limits for a shorter distance. Finishers will earn a unique FORGEd custom medal, along with a FORGE running hat and hoodie. Awards will also be presented to the male and female runners with the fastest cumulative time and the final loop winners, adding an extra layer of competitive spirit to this welcoming and rewarding event.
