Freedom 5K Run for the Wreath Fun Run/Walk

Celebrate Independence Day with purpose at the annual Freedom 5K Run for the Wreath Fun Run/Walk, taking place on July 4, 2026, in scenic Gardnerville, Nevada. This uplifting 5K, a proud part of the "We Run This Town" series, offers a family-friendly atmosphere where runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome, including those with strollers and leashed, friendly dogs. The event kicks off from Heritage Park on the Ezell Street side, promising a spirited start to your holiday festivities.

The Freedom 5K is more than just a race; it's a heartfelt tribute to local heroes. Main Street Gardnerville partners with Wreaths Across America, dedicating $5 from every registration directly to purchasing wreaths for the 225 military veterans interred at Garden Cemetery. Participants can enjoy a patriotic journey through Gardnerville, starting at 8:00 AM, rain or shine, after registration opens at 7:00 AM. Typical race day conditions in early July can see highs around 91°F and lows around 48°F, with a minimal 1% chance of precipitation. All finishers will proudly receive a commemorative medal, and the top three overall will earn trophies.
