Frostbite 5K

Get ready to embrace the winter chill at the 14th Annual Frostbite 5K, set to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in scenic Nashotah, WI. This beloved community event offers distances for everyone, including a 3.1-mile (5K) run, a 0.6-mile (Kiddos 1K) for younger participants, a 5K Ruck, and a 2-mile walk. The course is described as flat, fast, and remarkably scenic, winding through the picturesque, historic, and tree-lined grounds of the Nashotah House Theological Seminary. Typical race day conditions in late February see highs around 35F and lows around 16F, with a slight 9% chance of precipitation, creating that authentic "frostbite" experience for runners, walkers, and ruckers alike.

What truly sets the Frostbite 5K apart is its warm and inviting atmosphere, making it more than just a race—it's a delightful community gathering. After crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to warming up and refueling with a delicious free lunch served in the St. Joan of Arc Café, a cherished tradition of the event. Unique finisher "woodles," which are custom-crafted magnet keepsakes by Ridgeway Woodworks, are awarded to all participants, and special "Average Joe & Jane Awards" recognize the male and female runners who finish exactly in the middle of the pack.

The event kicks off with packet pickup opening at 8:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc - Nashotah, located at 120 Nashotah Rd, where ample parking is available. The Kiddos 1K starts at 8:45 AM, followed by the main 5K run, 5K ruck, and 2-mile walk at 9:00 AM. Participants can also grab a commemorative cotton unisex race shirt, with an option to upgrade to a long-sleeve, guaranteed for early registrants.
