Lace up for the Frostbite Run, a beloved annual event presented by the Southern Oregon Runners, taking place on Saturday, February 14, 2026. This festive race, offering both a 10K and 5K distance, invites runners to "Fight the Frost" in the scenic community of Phoenix, OR, with the start and finish lines conveniently located at Talent Middle School. Typical race day conditions in mid-February include highs around 53°F and lows around 29°F, with a minimal 9% chance of precipitation, providing a crisp and invigorating atmosphere for your run.

The Frostbite Run courses are entirely paved, leading participants through the beautiful rolling hills of the area. The 10K features a challenging yet rewarding loop, incorporating a "short and punchy hill" on Allen Lane and offering picturesque views throughout the route. The 5K is a classic out-and-back journey, perfect for those seeking a quicker pace. While enjoying the "beautiful scenery," runners should remain aware of their surroundings as the course is not closed to traffic, and some blind turns are present. Headphones are not encouraged to ensure runner safety. An aid station is provided on the 5K course, and at least one is available on the 10K route to support your efforts.

Organized by Southern Oregon Runners, the region's oldest and most active running club, the Frostbite Run is well-regarded as an "amazing race" with a reputation for being well-managed and enjoyable. Beyond the competition, all finishers receive a custom medal, with age group awards also presented. A standout feature of this community-focused event is the free entry for youth 18 and under, encouraging participation across all ages. Packet pickup and day-of registration begin at 10:00 AM at Talent Middle School, with the 10K starting at 11:00 AM and the 5K at 11:30 AM.
