Lace up your trail shoes for the Geaux Wild Ultra on March 7, 2026, a captivating challenge set within the picturesque Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, Louisiana. Offering distances of 100M, 50M, and 50K, this event, now featuring a new 100-miler for its second year, promises an immersive experience in the heart of Louisiana's natural beauty. Runners will navigate a 10-mile loop combining the Blue Wing, Koasati, and Whoa Mule trails, characterized by classic Louisiana State Park terrain: flat, minimally elevated paths, often muddy sections, tree roots, and natural surfaces. The course offers scenic vistas of upland mixed hardwood forests, serene open waters, and enchanting stands of cypress and tupelo trees.

Runners can anticipate solid support with two aid stations per 10-mile loop. The main aid station at the Start/Finish area will provide hot food, a variety of trail snacks, water, ice, and electrolytes, along with vegan options for race day and the finish meal. A second, unmanned aid station around mile 5 will ensure runners have access to water, snacks, ice, and electrolytes as they push through the course. Typical race day conditions in early March bring comfortable highs around 68F and lows around 43F, with a modest 17% chance of precipitation, offering favorable running weather.

Beyond the challenge, the Geaux Wild Ultra is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, complete with available camping within Lake Bistineau State Park for a truly integrated race experience. Participants in the 50K and 50M will earn finisher medals, with custom awards for the top three male and female finishers, while 100-mile conquerors will receive a coveted buckle. All distances come with a swag bag including a T-shirt, speed cup, waist belt pack, and neck gaiter, with 100M finishers also receiving an additional jacket.
