This 51.7-mile paved trail stretches between Williamsburg and Richmond, offering breathtaking views through Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields and serene farmlands. The course is largely flat, featuring minimal elevation changes with just over 1,000 feet of climbing in each direction for the longer distances, ensuring a generally smooth and enjoyable ride with only a few "punchy" climbs to keep things interesting, notably a hill when heading east out of Richmond.

The Cap2Cap stands out with its innovative "Open-Start" format, allowing participants to choose their own starting points and times along the Virginia Capital Trail, fostering a relaxed and community-focused atmosphere. With distances including the challenging 100-mile Century, the popular 50-mile Half Century, the 25-mile Quarter Century, and a family-friendly 7-mile ride, there's a perfect option for every cyclist.
