Get Lost Gravel

Choose your challenge from three exhilarating distances: The Forge (82 miles with 6,100 feet of climbing), The Smelter (47 miles with 4,100 feet of climbing), or the newly introduced Prospector (32 miles with 2,700 feet of climbing). Typical race day conditions in early August bring highs around 87F and lows near 51F, with only a 3% chance of precipitation, promising clear skies for breathtaking views.

The courses begin with an early morning roll-out from the iconic Red Barn Bicycles, ascending the gorgeous Sleeping Child Canyon. Brace yourself for the "burly climb" up Two Bear Road, gaining 2500 feet from the canyon floor and rewarding you with unforgettable vistas at every switchback. The Forge route extends into over 60 miles of continuous backcountry gravel, featuring a 50-mile high country circuit that delivers 360-degree panoramas of the Rye Creek Drainage and postcard views of the majestic Bitterroot Mountains. The Smelter and Prospector routes also traverse old logging roads and include some sections of singletrack, with the Prospector designed to keep riders on forest service roads and two-track while still offering a thrilling descent down Sawdust Gulch.

Runners will find ample support with fully stocked aid stations strategically placed along the routes, including at Two Bear Summit and Sawdust Gulch, with additional water stops on the longer courses. Beyond the challenging climbs and scenic descents, the Get Lost Gravel experience culminates in a vibrant post-race celebration back at Red Barn Bicycles.
