Ghostly Gallop Trail 5K

Lace up your running shoes and embrace the spirit of the season at the Ghostly Gallop Trail 5K, set to haunt the scenic Arrowhead Golf Course in Milton, VT, on October 25, 2026. Formerly known as "The Hills Are Alive XC," this event has transformed into a festive Halloween-themed trail run, inviting participants to don their best running costumes for a truly unique experience. Organized by the Green Mountain Athletic Association (GMAA), this race carries a legacy of challenging and enjoyable cross-country events.

The 5K course navigates the picturesque Laura's Tears trail, promising a route that is both challenging and charming, winding through the beautiful Vermont landscape. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 55°F and lows around 40°F, accompanied by a low 15% chance of precipitation, creating crisp autumn running weather. Post-race, participants can refuel with provided refreshments, and convenient facilities including porta-potties and handwashing stations will be available at the start/finish area.

Beyond the scenic trails, the Ghostly Gallop Trail 5K stands out with its lively Halloween atmosphere, encouraging runners of all paces to join the fun.
