Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5K

Lace up for a meaningful run at the Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5K, set to take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Grand Ledge, Michigan. This vibrant community event offers distances for all ages and abilities, including a 3.1-mile (5K) race, a 1-mile run for youth, and a 400-meter dash for kids. All races begin and conclude at the Grand Ledge High School Track & Field Facility, creating a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. The 5K course starts on the track, then takes runners through the charming and well-marked city streets of Grand Ledge, before returning to the track for a strong finish.

More than just a race, the Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5K is also known as the Josh Spalsbury Memorial 5K Comet Chase, honoring a special legacy while actively supporting local education. All proceeds directly benefit the Grand Ledge Education Foundation, providing vital extra funding for special projects within Grand Ledge Public Schools classrooms. Participants in the 5K can look forward to a finisher medal, a technical t-shirt, and a drawstring bag, with awards presented to the top three male and female finishers in each division. The youth 1-mile race also recognizes the top 10 finishers.
