Halloween 5K and Monster Mile

Embrace the spirit of the season at the 11th Annual Halloween 5K and Monster Mile, a cherished Stafford Halloween tradition taking place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Stafford, VA. This festive event offers two distances: a 5K for runners and walkers of all ages, and a spirited Monster Mile specifically designed for younger participants aged 3 to 12. As the fourth race in the 2026 Stafford Race Series, the event promises a lively atmosphere where costumes are highly encouraged, with prizes awarded for the most creative attire. Participants can expect typical race day conditions with highs around 64F and lows near 44F, and only a 13% chance of precipitation, making for pleasant running weather.

The course, which includes the Monster Mile paralleling Mine Road, provides a road surface suitable for all abilities, with strollers permitted in the 5K for families, though participants with strollers are asked to start towards the back. Start and finish activities, including packet pickup, are conveniently located around the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center and Embrey Mill Park at 1600 Mine Road. Runners will find at least one aid station with water and first aid near Austin Ridge and Mine Road to support them along the way. All registered participants who sign up before the deadline will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and a custom finisher's medal to commemorate their achievement.
