Haven Half

This demanding point-to-point trail half marathon, slightly shy of the traditional 13.1 miles at 12.37 miles, boasts nearly 2,000 feet of elevation gain, making it ideal for experienced runners or those seeking a true trail-specific test. The course traverses rolling terrain, forested hills, and open high-country vistas along scenic Hwy 44 and Placerville Rd, promising spectacular views of the Black Hills National Forest throughout.

Runners begin with a remote shuttle start from Hisega Lodge, concluding their journey with a memorable backcountry finish near the same picturesque Hisega TH. Aid stations are strategically placed, typically starting around mile 3 and appearing approximately every two miles thereafter, offering water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and basic first aid supplies. Participants can expect a well-organized event with a supportive trail-running community, and finishers are rewarded with a medal and a cool bag. Typical race day conditions in late July feature highs around 80°F and lows around 53°F, with an 11% chance of precipitation.
