Home Run 5K

Join fellow runners on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for the 10th annual Home Run 5K in Middlesex, NC. This inspiring 5K event takes participants through the heart of the Free Will Baptist Children's Home campus and the picturesque surrounding farmland, offering a scenic and engaging route. The course features several small hills, providing a manageable challenge for runners of all levels, while strollers are welcome for those bringing little ones along. Typical race day conditions in early May often bring pleasant weather, with highs around 78F and lows near 55F, and only a 15% chance of precipitation, creating ideal running conditions.

More than just a race, the Home Run 5K is a vital fundraiser, with proceeds directly supporting the various programs of the Free Will Baptist Children's Home, including Alternative Family Placement, Family Foster Care & Adoptions, and Thrive Independent Living. The race fosters a community atmosphere, even offering special awards for the largest registered groups. Packet pick-up and check-in are conveniently located in Heritage Hall on campus from 8:00-8:45 AM, with the race promptly starting at 9:00 AM.

The start and finish line are centrally located on campus, creating an energetic hub for participants. Runners should plan to arrive early to allow ample time for parking, which is situated across campus from the check-in and start/finish areas. While pets are not permitted on the course or at the race site, and bicycles and skateboards are not allowed, the Home Run 5K promises an enjoyable and impactful experience, professionally timed by Run The East, LLC, ensuring accurate results for all.
