Hotfoot 5K Trail Run

Celebrating its 24th year, this popular race offers both a 5K trail course and a 1-mile trail course, catering to runners and walkers of all abilities. The 5K trail course provides a "mostly flat" one-loop experience through the park's wooded areas. Runners will navigate natural trails with very little elevation change, encountering some exposed roots and occasional sharp turns that add a touch of challenge. The route also offers diverse scenery, passing by park features such as the SK Skate Park, Casey's Batting Cage, a kids playground, and even Live Steamer trains. The 1-mile course offers a flat trail along the park's perimeter, perfect for those seeking a shorter, faster dash. Both courses are accurately measured and well-marked with numerous signs and even flour on roots to highlight potential stepping hazards, ensuring a clear and safe path. The start and finish lines are conveniently located in the parking lot of the Lund Avenue entrance to the park.

The Hotfoot 5K prides itself on fostering a positive community experience, drawing around 120 participants annually, which ensures uncrowded trails.
