Prepare for a true Florida ultra-adventure at Hungryland, set for March 21, 2026, in the stunning Hungryland Slough Natural Area of West Palm Beach, FL. This unique event, one of the first 100-mile ultras permitted in a Palm Beach County Natural Area, offers runners a choice between two challenging formats: the 33-Hour Jogger Slogger or the 6-Hour Runner Gunner. The course is a 14.3-mile true loop, a "pseudo iron cross" with no out-and-backs or repeated sections, designed to give you a grand tour of Hungryland's diverse ecosystems. You'll traverse pine flatwoods, open prairies, wetlands, swamps, hammocks, and marsh lands on a primarily double-track network of management roads. While famously flat with no significant elevation gain, the terrain itself, ranging from hard-packed grass to softer paths, presents its own challenge.

Typical race day conditions in March bring highs around 80F and lows around 63F, with only an 8% chance of precipitation. However, the Hungryland Slough is known for its unpredictable nature; conditions can shift from dry and dusty to wet and muddy, sometimes even during the race, making each loop an evolving experience. This event is fully supported with aid stations every 3-4 miles. The start/finish area hosts a full aid station offering hot food after dusk, including noodles, pierogies, and soups, along with standard ultra-fare, water, ice, and liquid nutrition. Pacers are permitted for 33HR participants from dusk, and runners can set up a small base camp near the start/finish for recovery between loops.

With an entrant capacity limited to 100-125 due to the area's environmental sensitivity, Hungryland promises an intimate yet brutal experience. Whether you're aiming for a 100-mile buckle by completing seven loops or simply looking to challenge yourself against the clock and the wild, Hungryland offers an inclusive race for all who seek an authentic Florida trail running adventure.
