Huron River Run 5K and Relay

The Huron River Run 5K and Relay invites runners to experience a vibrant summer morning race on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in beautiful Huron, Ohio. This traditional annual event, a highlight of the Huron 5K Challenge Series, offers both an individual 5K run/walk and an exciting 2-person 5K relay. The relay challenge allows teams to conquer the 3.1-mile course together, with each participant running approximately 1.56 miles. For younger enthusiasts, a lively kids' fun run is also available, making it a fantastic outing for the entire family.

The picturesque course begins and concludes at the iconic Huron River Pier, specifically at the corner of Main Street and Wall Street in front of the Pier Pub. Runners will weave through the charming Old Plat downtown area and the scenic Oklahoma neighborhoods, soaking in the local atmosphere. To ensure a comfortable race experience, a water station is strategically placed at the 1.5-mile mark, near Huron High School.

Held during the festive Huron River Festival weekend, participants can expect a lively atmosphere and even catch the River Fest parade after their race. Typical race day conditions in mid-July include pleasant highs around 84°F and lows around 65°F, with a modest 17% chance of precipitation. Beyond the scenic route and festive mood, the Huron River Run also supports a great cause, with proceeds benefiting the Huron High School track and cross-country teams for scholarships and Young Life of Erie County.
