This event offers a unique 5K experience, known as the Rooster Run 5K, alongside a 1 Mile Strut for those looking for a shorter distance. Hosted by the Pelican River chapter of Pheasants Forever, this race is more than just a run; it's an opportunity to support local habitat conservation projects that protect clean water, air, and soil.

The Rooster Run 5K course is a distinctive blend of trail and gravel, winding through beautiful habitat surrounded by lush farmland, alongside a river, and past vibrant pollinator fields. While primarily a grassy trail run, the 2026 route includes a new section on a gravel road, offering varied terrain for all participants. Runners can anticipate admiring fields, pollinator gardens, and grasslands as they set their pace.
