About This Race

Embark on an unforgettable desert adventure at the Hypnosis Night Runs, set for June 13, 2026, in Avondale, AZ. As the third race in the thrilling Insomniac Night Trail Run Series, this event challenges runners to "Carpe Noctem – seize the night" across distances of 52K, 36K, 22K, 15K, and 6K. The courses, staged out of the Estrella Mountain Competitive Track, promise a unique experience under a starlit sky, traversing rolling desert trails that feature both fast, smooth sections and engaging mountainous terrain amidst majestic saguaro cacti. Expect to navigate 100% un-paved trails, offering a true test of trail running prowess.

Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 105F and lows around 74F; however, the night-time start offers a reprieve as temperatures dip slightly, providing a magical atmosphere for your journey. Aid stations are strategically located, with a fully stocked main station at the start/finish line and additional remote water-only or fully stocked stations on longer loops. These well-supplied points offer water, ice, electrolyte drinks, a variety of salty and sweet snacks, fruit, PB&J, bean rollups, and even hot food like quesadillas and grilled cheese, ensuring you stay energized throughout the challenge. Drop bag access is available at the start/finish area, where crews are also welcome to support their runners. Pacers are permitted exclusively for 52K participants, beginning on their fourth loop.

The Hypnosis Night Runs are renowned for their "flowy, fun, and challenging" routes, providing an immersive experience in the beauty of the Sonoran Desert at night. All finishers receive a custom Artworx medal, with podium awards for top male and female finishers. This event, which first launched in 2013, invites you to conquer the technical and competitive loops of Estrella Mountain Regional Park, illuminated by the moon and your headlamp.
