Set against the picturesque backdrop of Hawthorn Park in Terre Haute, Indiana, the Indiana Fall Classic invites runners and walkers to embrace the autumn chill on Saturday, November 14, 2026. This popular event offers a challenging 10K and a welcoming 1-mile run/walk, winding through a beautiful blend of trails and roads. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 53°F and lows near 34°F, alongside a low 11% chance of precipitation, creating crisp and ideal running weather.
What truly sets the Indiana Fall Classic apart is its festive and inclusive atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to extend their Halloween fun by joining the costume contest, where two winners are chosen by popular vote and the race director, along with a random bib draw, all receiving prizes valued at $100 or more in local gift cards. Finishers of the 1-mile event will proudly receive a finisher medal. The race also emphasizes fair play for its competitive walkers, with specific rules in place to ensure a level playing field.
The race day kicks off with packet pickup and registration at Hawthorn Park from 8:00 to 9:20 a.m. The 1-mile run/walk starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 10K at 10:10 a.m. After crossing the finish line, located near the Dogwood Shelter, participants can refuel and celebrate their accomplishments with complimentary chili. Awards are presented across various age groups, recognizing both runners and walkers. Limited parking is available within Hawthorn Park, with additional grass parking situated across from the park entrance.
