Join the community of runners and walkers on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for the Jim Hodge Memorial Run in beautiful Menominee, Michigan. This inspiring event, now in its 14th year, offers participants a choice of a 10K run, a 5K run/walk, and a fun 1/2 mile Kids' Run, all centered around supporting a vital cause. The mission of the Jim Hodge Memorial Run is deeply rooted in community care, as it aims to assist those in the Marinette/Menominee area requiring treatment for lung conditions and to passionately promote organ donation in memory of Jim Hodge, whose life was extended by a generous organ donor. Over the past 12 years, the event has successfully raised more than $175,000, directly benefiting cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation patients and enhancing their quality of life.
The race day kicks off with bib pick-up at Veterans Memorial Park, the hub for both the start and finish lines, from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM. The 10K race begins at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5K race at 8:15 AM, and the spirited Kids' Run at 9:15 AM. Runners can expect a road course originating from Veterans Memorial Park, offering an engaging experience through the charming city of Menominee. Typical race day conditions in early August bring pleasant highs around 81°F and lows around 62°F, with a minimal 15% chance of precipitation, creating comfortable conditions for participants.
The Jim Hodge Memorial Run is celebrated for its strong community spirit and camaraderie, drawing over 250 participants annually. Awards will be presented to the top two male and female finishers across various age groups in both the 5K and 10K events, while all young participants in the Kids' 1/2 Mile Run will receive ribbons, celebrating every effort. As a proud member of the Tri-City Event Series, this run is more than just a race; it's an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a fantastic day of fitness and community connection.
