Kentucky Cryptid Series - Bigfoot

Embark on a thrilling adventure through the heart of Kentucky at the Kentucky Cryptid Series - Bigfoot race, set for October 4, 2026, in Fairdale, KY. This exciting event offers both 8-mile and 5-mile options, catering to a range of trail runners. As the fourth installment in the popular Kentucky Cryptid Series, runners will explore the scenic trails of Jefferson Memorial Forest, beginning at Horine Reservation. The course winds through beautiful red and orange trails, offering stunning fall foliage as you make your way towards the Welcome Center and back.

Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 76°F and lows around 56°F, and only a 12% chance of precipitation, making for pleasant trail running weather. The Bigfoot race is a cupless event, so bring your own hydration system; an on-course water stop will be available for 8-milers as they return from the Red trail. The start and finish line is conveniently located near the campground gate in the Horine Reservation parking lot, with packet pick-up on-site. Limited parking is available, so carpooling is highly encouraged to ensure a smooth experience.
