Kids and Cops: Glow Run

Lace up your running shoes for the Kids and Cops: Glow Run, an electrifying nighttime 5K taking place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the charming town of Edenton, NC. This vibrant event is more than just a race; it's a glowing celebration designed to strengthen the bond between local law enforcement and the community's youth, all while promoting fun and fitness for participants of all ages. Each race packet includes glow gear, ensuring runners light up the flat, out-and-back road course that begins at Queen Anne Park and winds through the historic Hayes Plantation.

As the 8th annual iteration, the Kids and Cops: Glow Run has a proud history, organized by Chowan County 4-H and the Chowan County Sheriff's Office. Proceeds directly benefit the Kids & Cops Program, an initiative established in 2012 to foster positive relationships through mentorship, summer camps, and community engagement. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions in early May with highs around 78F and lows around 59F, accompanied by a 15% chance of precipitation, creating a comfortable evening for this unique glow experience. Electronic chip timing by Run the East, LLC ensures accurate results, and refreshments will be available at the hospitality tent for participants after crossing the finish line back at Queen Anne Park. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers across various age categories, including 10 and under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
