Embark on a truly unique nocturnal trail adventure at La Nuit, held under the Texas stars in Dallas on July 24, 2026. This inspiring event, translating to "The Night" in French, offers a diverse range of challenges from a 1-Mile stroll to 3-hour, 6-hour, and demanding 9-hour timed races, along with 5K and 10K options. Participants will traverse the challenging yet beautiful Cedar Ridge Preserve, a natural sanctuary typically closed after dark, offering an exclusive nighttime running experience. With typical race day conditions seeing highs around 98F and lows around 79F and a minimal chance of precipitation, runners will embrace the cooler night air for their journey. Proceeds from La Nuit benefit Equip Disciples' vital work, providing theological training and Bibles to remote communities in DR Congo and Rwanda.
The course itself is designed to test and thrill, featuring a 3.2-mile loop for the timed and longer distance races, winding through hilly and wooded terrain. Expect a varied trail surface, including mulch, solid rock, gravel, and dirt, with sections of switchbacks, straight climbs, descents, and some flat stretches. Runners will navigate trails like Cattail Pond and the challenging Fossil Valley Trail, experiencing the preserve's natural beauty by moonlight. Headlamps are mandatory for hour-long races, and due to the cupless nature of the event, runners should come prepared with their own hydration systems. A well-stocked main aid station at the start/finish line will keep you fueled with water, Gatorade, an array of snacks, and even hot food like Ramen and quesadillas throughout the night, with an additional water station midway through the loop.
What truly sets La Nuit apart is the captivating ambiance and the meaningful cause it supports. Running through Cedar Ridge Preserve after hours provides a rare opportunity to experience nature's tranquility and challenge yourself in an unforgettable setting. Every finisher, regardless of distance, earns a distinctive medal hand-carved in the DR Congo, a tangible reminder of the impact your participation has. Beyond the physical test, the race fosters a supportive atmosphere with encouraging music, words of hope, and delicious home-cooked breakfast foods as dawn breaks, culminating in a rewarding trail running adventure that benefits a global mission.
