This popular event, a highlight of the Columbus Roadrunners Summer Series, offers both a scenic 5K race and a family-friendly 1-mile run, starting and finishing right within the beautiful Lakebottom Park at 1505 Cherokee Ave. Runners will traverse paved roads, enjoying the lush green scenery of this cherished 40-acre park, originally established in 1890 as Wildwood Park before being renamed to Weracoba and affectionately known as Lakebottom Park.

The course is known for its scenic views, offering a relatively flat to gently rolling profile suitable for all abilities, whether you're chasing a new personal record or enjoying a morning out with the family. Typical race day conditions in early August can see highs around 93F and lows around 74F, with a 15% chance of precipitation, making the 8:00 AM 5K start and 7:30 AM 1-mile start times ideal for beating the heat. Participants can look forward to a thrilling atmosphere with awards presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as age group winners, while all 1-mile participants will receive a finisher medal.
