Lanikai 8K Run

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Hawaii at the Lanikai 8K Run on July 19, 2026, in Kailua, HI. This scenic 8K run/walk, which also features a stroller division, invites participants to embark on a memorable journey through the iconic Lanikai neighborhood. The course is primarily flat along the picturesque Lanikai Bike Path, though runners will encounter some short, moderate hills near the finish of each of the two counterclockwise loops. Starting at the Lanikai Monument, runners will be treated to stunning ocean views and the vibrant atmosphere of this residential area, culminating their efforts near the Lanikai Boat Ramp at Kailua Beach Park. Typical race day conditions in mid-July include highs around 84°F and lows around 72°F, with a 16% chance of precipitation, creating a warm and humid tropical running experience.

More than just a race, the Lanikai 8K is held in memory of Daniel Levey, a young participant who tragically passed away in 2003, making for a friendly and memorial atmosphere supported by his parents. Finishers are rewarded with refreshing free shave ice from Island Snow, a perfect treat after conquering the course. An aid station is conveniently located at the end of the Lanikai loop to keep runners hydrated. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various five-year age groups.
