Runners in both the 50K and Last Man Standing will navigate a course that features inviting grassy sections by the lake, shaded single-track trails winding through the woods, and a brief paved segment. Each lap presents approximately 150 feet of elevation gain, creating a constantly undulating yet non-technical experience with great lake views and natural shade in parts.

What truly sets Last at the Lake apart is its distinctive format and challenging summer conditions. The 50K race requires participants to complete 10 laps of the 5K course, while the Last Man Standing event dares runners to finish a 5K loop every hour on the hour, continuing until only one competitor remains. Both the fastest 50K finisher and the Last Man Standing receive a $100 cash prize. Typical race day conditions in late July see highs around 86°F and lows around 65°F, with a 22% chance of precipitation, ensuring a true test of endurance often described by past participants as "crazy hot" but ultimately "very fun."
