Prepare for a Hawaiian running adventure at the Laule'a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon, set to take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in picturesque Ewa Beach, Hawaii. This flat and fast event offers participants a choice of 13.1 miles, 10K, or 5K distances, starting from the heart of O'ahu's Hoakalei community and Wai Kai, a prominent recreation facility. Typical race day conditions in July offer warm weather, with highs around 88°F and lows around 72°F, and a minimal chance of precipitation.
The Laule'a course is promoted with promises of spectacular views, including Ernie Els' signature golf course and O'ahu's breathtaking Leeward Coast at Nimitz Beach. However, some past participants have offered a more nuanced perspective, noting that extended scenic vistas can be brief, with portions of the route traversing a busy highway that is not closed to traffic, and at times passing industrial areas. Aid stations are strategically placed approximately every mile, providing essential hydration with water and electrolytes, as well as first-aid support. Half Marathon runners will extend towards Coral Sea Road for a straightaway before returning, while 10K and 5K courses feature turnarounds earlier in the Hoakalei development.
Beyond the course, the Laule'a event, organized by Aloha Racing, distinguishes itself through its commitment to community and runner experience. It proudly supports Protectors of Paradise, a charity dedicated to preserving Hawaii's natural beauty. All finishers receive custom medals with distance-specific ribbons, and participants can look forward to cooling towels at the finish line, personalized souvenir race bibs for early registrants, and complimentary race photos. As the 4th annual iteration for 2026, this race aims to provide a memorable experience amidst the beauty of the island, whether you're chasing a personal best on a flat course or enjoying a destination run.
