The course, renowned for being tough and challenging, takes runners through single-track forested trails and exposed alpine environments, featuring significant elevation changes and aggressive climbs. Half-marathon participants will also experience considerable ascents, with about 2,372 feet of gain and a high point of 7,600 feet, following the Big Wood River before tackling the Oregon Fox Connector trail. Both distances start and finish at Oregon Gulch via Curly's, utilizing well-marked steep single-track loops, clearly indicated with pink flags for easy navigation.
