Runners will enjoy a mostly flat route over pavement and concrete sidewalks, with a few gentle inclines and declines, as they take in iconic landmarks such as the majestic Currituck Beach Lighthouse and the historic Whalehead Club. While typical race day conditions in early August bring highs around 88F and lows around 72F with an 18% chance of precipitation, the early 8 AM start helps mitigate the summer heat.
