About This Race

Embark on an unforgettable trail adventure at the Long Creek 60K on April 19, 2026, in the scenic First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach, VA. This challenging 60K ultra-marathon offers runners a unique opportunity to explore all nine of the park's diverse trails over two loops, with a 10-hour time limit to complete the journey. The course, approximately 95% unpaved, winds through breathtaking maritime forests, cypress swamps, and salt marshes, eventually opening up to stunning views along the bay shoreline and even sections directly on the beach of Broad Bay, which can be affected by high tide. Runners consistently praise the race for its well-marked, scenic routes and vibrant atmosphere.

The Long Creek 60K starts and finishes at the boat ramp side of the Narrows Trail, guiding participants through a varied landscape that promises spectacular views of the water and surrounding habitats. To support runners, there are three well-stocked aid stations strategically placed along the course, with no more than 5 miles between them. These stations provide essential hydration like Tailwind, water, and soda, along with energizing gels, pickle juice, and a variety of foods including PB&J sandwiches, chips, bacon, potatoes, and cheese quesadillas. Embracing a commitment to sustainability, this is a cupless race, and each entrant receives a reusable 200ml collapsible SpeedCup at packet pickup.

Typical race day conditions in mid-April feature comfortable highs around 72°F and lows around 52°F, with a relatively low 14% chance of precipitation, creating ideal weather for a long-distance trail run. All finishers within the time limit will be celebrated with a custom finisher award, a tangible reminder of their accomplishment on this captivating course.
