Lucky Leprechaun 5K

Lace up your running shoes for the 13th Annual Lucky Leprechaun 5K, returning to the charming town of Milton, Delaware, on Sunday, March 8, 2026. This festive 5K race offers a fantastic way to kick off your St. Patrick's Day celebrations, inviting runners and walkers alike to a "fast & flat" loop course. The route, a new wheel-measured design by the late Doug White, promises an enjoyable experience through Milton's town limits, starting and finishing right at the Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant on Union Street. Runners can anticipate typical race day conditions with highs around 53F and lows around 34F, and only a 12% chance of precipitation, making for ideal running weather.

Beyond the scenic course, the Lucky Leprechaun 5K is renowned for its vibrant community atmosphere and charitable spirit. Having grown significantly since its inception in 2008, drawing a record 661 participants in 2025, the event is known for attracting both competitive "young guns" and numerous families. Participants are encouraged to don their best St. Paddy's Day costumes, adding to the lively green theme of the day. Post-race, the celebration continues at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant with refreshments, including beer and Bloody Marys for those 21 and over.
