Lace up your running shoes for the 11th Annual Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk, set to take place on July 4, 2026, in picturesque Dunkirk, NY. More than just a race, the Marauder Trotter serves as a vital fundraiser for the Dunkirk High School Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund, honoring the memory of their deceased classmates.

The course itself is a highlight, leading participants on a scenic journey along Dunkirk's beautiful Lake Erie waterfront. Runners will follow Lake Front Boulevard, transition to a charming path by the water, loop around the iconic pier, and navigate Memorial Park before heading back to Wright Park for the finish. This largely flat route provides an enjoyable experience for all ability levels. Participants can expect a lively atmosphere, often featuring music from DJ Joe Gould, snacks, and refreshments. Typical race day conditions in early July include comfortable highs around 79F and lows around 61F, with only a 13% chance of precipitation, making for ideal running weather.
