Max's Race for The Davies Project

Lace up your running shoes for the 21st annual Max's Race for The Davies Project, a heartwarming 5K run/walk taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in East Lansing, Michigan. This beloved event unfolds on the picturesque Michigan State University campus, offering a scenic course for participants. Typical race day conditions in mid-June bring pleasant weather, with highs around 79°F and lows around 57°F, and only a 13% chance of precipitation, creating ideal running conditions.

More than just a race, this event honors the memory of Max, who passed away at age six from complications from meningitis. Proceeds directly benefit The Davies Project, a vital local non-profit dedicated to providing free round-trip transportation to medical appointments for seriously ill children, pregnant women, and parents of NICU babies in the Greater Lansing area. Participants can look forward to a unique experience that includes a scavenger hunt inspired by Max's favorite things, such as the moon, the color orange, and MSU's iconic mascot, Sparty. All 5K registrants will receive a short-sleeve race t-shirt and a commemorative finisher's medal to celebrate their accomplishment.

The 5K run/walk kicks off at 8:00 AM, starting near Hubbard Hall on the Michigan State University campus. Packet pickup is available the day before the race from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Playmakers in Okemos, with additional race day pickup conveniently located in the Akers and Hubbard Hall courtyard from 7:00 AM to 8:45 AM.
