MCRRC Kids on the Run

Lace up the sneakers for a day of inspiring fun at the MCRRC Kids on the Run, taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in scenic Gaithersburg, MD. This vibrant, non-competitive event, designed for children and young people up to age 17, provides a welcoming introduction to the joy of running. Participants can choose from a variety of distances, including a 100-meter Toddler Trot, 0.5M, 1M, and a 2K, ensuring a perfect fit for every age and ability level.

The courses are set on the paved trails of Bohrer Park, offering a safe and picturesque running environment without any road crossings. Runners will enjoy circuits around the park's lake, providing a pleasant backdrop to their efforts. Adding to the supportive atmosphere, each event features a "rabbit" runner to lead the way and a "sweeper" to ensure every child makes it safely to the finish line, allowing for multiple opportunities for family and friends to cheer on the young athletes.
