This popular event, hosted at Halyburton Park, offers runners the choice of a 13.1-mile half marathon or a 5K race, catering to both seasoned athletes and those new to the racing scene. Typical race day conditions in late March boast comfortable highs around 68°F and lows around 45°F, with only a 12% chance of precipitation, providing ideal weather for a personal best.

Both distances feature a paved, out-and-back course, promising a generally flat and fast experience through the beautiful surroundings of New Hanover. Half Marathon participants will complete a 2.18-mile out-and-back segment six times, while 5K runners will tackle a 1.56-mile out-and-back route twice. With a generous course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes, participants have ample opportunity to enjoy the run at their own pace.

The Medal Madness event kicks off bright and early at 8:00 AM, with convenient packet pickup available from 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM; remember to register online as there's no on-site registration.
