This celebrated 4-mile race, now in its sixth year, is held in conjunction with the Gateway to the Smokies Ten-Miler and proudly benefits the Riley Howell Foundation Fund, honoring the life and bravery of a local hero. Runners will embark on a scenic and challenging course, beginning and ending on Commerce Street in the historic Frog Level district.

The Mighty Four Miler course weaves through the heart of Waynesville and Hazelwood, leading participants up Main Street, under the iconic Gateway to the Smokies arch, and past the poignant Riley Howell memorial tree. Expect a dynamic journey with 377 feet of elevation gain and loss, offering a true taste of the Appalachian foothills. Crossing the finish line back on Commerce Street, every participant will be celebrated with a commemorative finisher medal. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join their owners for the 4-mile distance, adding to the community spirit. For those 21 and older, Frog Level Brewing enhances the celebration with a complimentary pint of beer.
