"Miles 4 Moore" Moore County Trail Marathon, Half, and 5K

This event offers distances for every runner, walker, or backpacker, including a challenging 26.2M marathon, a scenic 13.1M half marathon, and an accessible 3.1M 5K. The marathon and half marathon courses guide participants through the beautiful natural landscapes of Reservoir Park, Whitehall Trail, and Nicks Creek Trail, with marathoners completing two loops of this engaging route. The 5K provides a lovely journey around Reservoir Park, utilizing the Sandhills Community College perimeter road and park trails.

"Miles 4 Moore" is more than just a race; it's a charity series dedicated to fostering community wellness and resiliency. Proceeds directly support vital programs, including gym memberships, coaching, and nutrition consultations for low-income families and high school athletes. Runners can expect a well-supported experience with four strategically placed aid stations along the loop, offering water, Gatorade, and essential snacks. Marathon participants will benefit from eight aid station stops throughout their journey. This self-paced fun run/walk welcomes all abilities, featuring a generous 7-hour cut-off time for the marathon.

Typical race day conditions in early March often feature cooler mornings in the mid-40s, warming to mild and pleasant temperatures in the mid-50s to low-60s by midday, making for ideal running weather with a low chance of precipitation. This timing also offers the delightful possibility of experiencing early spring blossoms while largely avoiding seasonal pollen. The start and finish lines are conveniently located near the trailhead by the Palmer Trades Center, with ample parking at the Faulkner Parking Lot off Earhart Drive.
