Get ready to experience the scenic beauty of Lyme, CT, at the 2nd Annual Mount Archer Trail Race on Sunday, May 3, 2026. This popular event offers two distinct trail experiences: the challenging 9.2-mile Moore Trail loop and the engaging 3-mile Sprint, inviting both seasoned trail runners and those new to the sport to explore the area's picturesque landscapes. The longer 9.2-mile course, part of the USATF-CT Mountain/Trail/Ultra Series, tests endurance on the full George and Rosemary Moore Trail, weaving counterclockwise across trails on both the north and south sides of Mount Archer Road, promising natural beauty and a rewarding sense of accomplishment.

The Mount Archer Trail Race begins from the Jewett Preserve at 478 Hamburg Road, with the 9.2-mile race starting at 8:00 AM and the 3-mile Sprint following at 8:15 AM, after bib collection opens at 7:00 AM. The shorter 3-mile loop on the northern side of Mount Archer offers a quick, fun adventure, and walkers and hikers are welcome to participate. Runners can anticipate comfortable typical race day conditions, with highs around 62°F and lows near 46°F, and only a 13% chance of precipitation, providing an ideal spring day for hitting the trails.

Participants will find hydration stations along the course and at the finish line to keep them fueled. Post-race, celebrate your achievement with complimentary food and drinks. Be sure to register by April 17 to guarantee a commemorative race t-shirt. Beyond the personal challenge, the Mount Archer Trail Race is a unique opportunity to give back, as 100% of all proceeds are donated to the Lyme Fire Department and Lyme Ambulance Association, LLC, supporting these vital volunteer local services.
