MV Spring Classic Marathon

The MV Spring Classic Marathon, set for Sunday, April 26, 2026, invites runners to experience the breathtaking beauty of Martha's Vineyard. Starting at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, both the full 26.2-mile marathon and the 13.1-mile half marathon courses are USATF certified and boast stunning ocean views alongside the island's natural charm. Runners will traverse a largely flat and fast course with a few gentle rolling hills, commencing at approximately 80 feet of elevation and finishing near sea level in the festive atmosphere of Waban Park in Oak Bluffs. Typical race day conditions in late April offer ideal temperatures, with highs around 60F and lows around 40F, and a minimal 14% chance of precipitation.

The marathon route guides participants through the peaceful, shaded bike paths of the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest before winding through Edgartown and along the scenic Beach Road, famously crossing the "Jaws" bridge. This point-to-point course is not only picturesque but also known for its speed, ranking among the fastest marathon courses in both the U.S. and Massachusetts, making it an excellent Boston Marathon Qualifier. Aid stations are strategically placed every two miles, well-staffed by local youth groups who enthusiastically cheer on runners, reinforcing the strong community spirit behind this event.
