Prepare for an extraordinary test of endurance at the inaugural Myrtle Beach 24 Hour, set to debut on January 24-25, 2026, in the scenic Market Common area of Myrtle Beach, SC. This challenging event invites ultra-runners to push their limits on a USATF certified and sanctioned 1.0806-mile paved loop, with the goal of covering as much distance as possible within a 24-hour period. The flat course winds along a multipurpose path near Grand Park Lake and Farrow Parkway, offering a pleasant backdrop in an area known for its vibrant atmosphere of restaurants and shops. Runners can expect typical race day conditions with highs around 56°F and lows around 36°F, alongside a modest 12% chance of precipitation.
What makes the Myrtle Beach 24 Hour truly unique is its flexible approach to ultrarunning. Participants can begin their journey anytime between the 8 a.m. Saturday start and 8 a.m. Sunday finish, dictating their own pace and mileage. A dedicated "tent city" adjacent to the start/finish line provides a crucial support hub, allowing runners to set up 10x10 canopies with access to power outlets, ensuring a comfortable personal aid station for the duration of the race. An on-course aid station will keep athletes fueled with typical ultra fare, including chips, candy, water, electrolyte drinks, and hot food. Finishers achieving 100 miles or more will be awarded a coveted buckle, while all other finishers receive a medal. Beyond the personal challenge, the race proudly supports the Mark Schild Youth Scholarship Fund, with all proceeds benefiting local youth sports programs.
