Lace up for a vibrant Outer Banks experience at the Nags Head Village 5k/1 Mile Road Race series presented by Village Realty on Thursday, June 18, 2026. This family-friendly event welcomes runners, walkers, and strollers to enjoy a scenic, chip-timed journey through the charming streets of the Village of West Nags Head. As part of the 12th annual summer series, participants will navigate an out-and-back course with clear mile markers and directional arrows, beginning and ending at the corner of West Seachase and South Links, conveniently located behind the Outback Steakhouse at milepost 14 on Highway 158. While the course is open to traffic, a water station is available to keep you hydrated.

Expect typical race day conditions in Nags Head around this time of year, with highs generally near 87°F and lows around 68°F, accompanied by about a 17% chance of precipitation. Each registration ensures a commemorative event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments and snacks to celebrate your accomplishment. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place male and female Masters (40 and over) and Youth (14 and under) in the 5k, with overall male and female awards for the 1-mile race.
