Nags Head Village Race Series

The Nags Head Village Race Series invites runners and walkers of all ages to experience the charm of the Outer Banks on Thursday, June 18, 2026. This popular event, part of the 12th annual summer road race series, offers both a 5K and a 1-Mile distance through the picturesque streets of the Village of West Nags Head. The course is described as family-friendly, winding through residential areas and providing a beautiful coastal setting. It's an out-and-back route, clearly marked with mile markers and large red directional arrows, though runners should note the course is open to traffic.

Starting and finishing conveniently at the corner of West Seachase and South Links, behind the Outback Steakhouse and Outer Banks Mall, participants will find ample parking and on-site port-a-johns. Typical race day conditions in June see highs around 87°F and lows around 68°F, with a 17% chance of precipitation, suggesting warm but potentially pleasant morning running weather. A water station is available on the 5K course to help keep runners hydrated.

This chip-timed event emphasizes family fun, welcoming strollers, walkers, and competitive racers alike.
