Nags Head Village Race Series

Lace up for a vibrant summer morning at the Nags Head Village Race Series, taking place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the charming Village of West Nags Head, NC. This family-friendly event welcomes runners, walkers, and strollers to tackle either a 5K or a 1-mile distance, both chip-timed for accurate results. The course winds along the picturesque streets of the village, offering a pleasant road racing experience without significant elevation changes, allowing participants to focus on their pace and enjoy the coastal scenery.

As part of the 12th annual series presented by OBX Running and Village Realty, this race promises a lively atmosphere. Participants will start and finish conveniently located behind the Outer Banks Mall, at the corner of West Seachase and South Links, behind the Outback Steakhouse. Ample parking is available in the mall, and port-a-johns are on-site for convenience. Typical race day conditions in mid-July include highs around 89°F and lows around 72°F, with a 17% chance of precipitation, making for a warm but potentially refreshing Outer Banks run.

Each race entry includes a commemorative event t-shirt, a finisher medal to celebrate your accomplishment, and post-race refreshments and snacks. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female overall finishers in the 5K, as well as the first-place male and female Masters (40 and over) and Youth (14 and under). The 1 Mile race also recognizes the first-place overall male and female finishers, ensuring a rewarding experience for all who participate. Packet pickup is available on race morning at the start line, ensuring a smooth start to your race day.
