About This Race

Embark on a captivating journey through the heart of Chattanooga's natural beauty at the Nature Park 50K & 25K Trail Race on February 14, 2026. Hosted by Wild Trails, a dedicated non-profit championing trail protection, this event takes runners deep into the sprawling 2800 acres of Enterprise South Nature Park. Both the 50K and 25K distances offer a single-loop adventure, starting with a brief road section before transitioning to the wide, soft Poe Run trail and then well-maintained horse trails.

The course is a diverse tapestry of terrain, guiding participants through five miles of "gorgeous and winding non-technical" pedestrian-only trails before moving onto rolling single-track mountain bike trails for the final miles. A standout feature of this race is the unique experience of running directly through one of the park's historic concrete TNT storage bunkers, a fascinating remnant of its past as a U.S. Army munitions facility. Expect a hilly challenge with rolling sections and surfaces that include some roots, rocks, and ruts, all while surrounded by heavily wooded, undisturbed terrain teeming with wildlife such as deer, turkeys, and hawks. Five "amazing" aid stations, generously stocked with a wide selection of snacks and drinks, will keep you fueled throughout your endeavor.

Typical race day conditions in mid-February include highs around 55F and lows around 35F, with a minimal 18% chance of precipitation, providing cool and often crisp weather ideal for trail running. This race promises a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience, perfectly blending a love for the outdoors with a spirited trail running community.
