Newport Celebration Run

Experience the thrill of a quintessential coastal run at the Newport Celebration Run, taking place on July 4, 2026, in scenic Newport, Oregon. Marking its 12th anniversary, this beloved Independence Day event offers distances for every runner, including a challenging Half Marathon (13.1M), a speedy 10K, and a fun 5K, all starting and finishing near the Rogue Brewery along Southeast Marine Science Drive. Runners will be treated to breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, Yaquina Bay, and the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge, with a unique opportunity to run along the 1,300-foot NOAA pier.

The 5K and 10K courses are renowned for being flat and fast, making them ideal for setting a new personal record as they wind past the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. For those seeking a greater challenge, the Half Marathon presents a more dynamic course, blending approximately 7.87 miles of paved roads with 5.28 miles of scenic single-track trails that include significant climbs in the middle section. Aid stations, stocked with water, electrolytes, fruits, and snacks, are strategically placed throughout all courses to support runners. Typical race day conditions in Newport feature mild temperatures, with highs around 64°F and lows around 51°F, and only a 6% chance of precipitation, promising pleasant running weather.
