Night Owl Trail Marathon

The course features beautiful single-track trails that wind around Caesar Creek Lake, utilizing a combination of the yellow perimeter loop and red/green trails near Wellman Meadow. Runners can expect rolling hills and numerous back-to-back rollers, promising a engaging challenge amidst forested scenery. As the seventh annual summer edition, this race, organized by Empower Ultras, offers special surprises for five-time finishers and is proud to be a Trail Sisters approved event, ensuring equality in podium spots, prize money, awards, and women-specific swag.

The Night Owl Trail races are renowned for their unique atmosphere, providing a perfect opportunity to witness a picturesque sunset over Caesar Creek Lake as you set out on your journey. Participants must carry mandatory gear, including a headlamp or waist light with extra batteries, a water bottle or bladder, a collapsible cup, and a fully charged cell phone, as this is a cupless race. Aid stations are strategically positioned along the course, offering water, Tailwind, and a variety of nourishing options, with the Start/Finish area providing fully stocked refreshments, including warm food and vegan choices.

Finishers will proudly earn distinctive glow-in-the-dark owl medals, and all registered runners receive high-quality swag. Typical race day conditions in mid-June include highs around 83F and lows around 62F, with a 20% chance of precipitation.
