Norman Fourth Fest Firecracker 5K & Fun Run: America’s 250th Birthday Run

Join a vibrant Independence Day celebration at the Norman Fourth Fest Firecracker 5K & Fun Run: America’s 250th Birthday Run, taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Legacy Park in Norman, Oklahoma. This special edition of the annual event marks America's 250th birthday, promising an unforgettable experience filled with patriotic surprises, red, white, and blue energy, and birthday-themed fun. Choose your challenge with either the exhilarating 5K race or the festive 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, both starting at 8:00 AM CDT.

The 5K course is known for being fast and flat, as well as USATF Certified, offering an excellent opportunity for personal records as you race through the lively streets of Norman. Participants will be cheered on by enthusiastic local spectators, contributing to the energetic community atmosphere that makes this race a perennial favorite. Expect typical race day conditions with highs around 92°F and lows around 71°F, and a 12% chance of precipitation. As a bonus, this event also kicks off the 2026 Norman Parks & Rec Run Series.

Every runner receives a customized race bib and a special commemorative 16oz metal color-changing finisher cup, a one-time-only giveaway to celebrate America's monumental 250th birthday. 5K participants will also receive a timing tag and can look forward to free professional race photos. Age group awards are presented for both youth and adult categories.
