Ore to Shore

This revered event, known as one of the Midwest's "triple crown" races, offers a diverse range of distances to challenge every rider, from the seasoned veteran to the aspiring junior. Choose your challenge from the grueling 48-mile Hard Rock, the demanding 28-mile Soft Rock, or the accessible 10-mile Shore Rock. Younger enthusiasts can experience the thrill with the 4-mile Jr. Rock, 1-mile Little Rock, or the delightful 50-yard Littlest Rock for toddlers.

The point-to-point courses, including the Hard Rock and Soft Rock, kick off in Negaunee, the historic "birthplace" of Michigan's iron ore mining, and journey to the picturesque Lake Superior shoreline in Marquette. Riders will traverse a captivating landscape, featuring a dynamic mix of paved roll-outs, dirt trails, two-track, and gravel roads, with some challenging rocky and sandy sections that may require a brief hike-a-bike. Expect a gradual decline of nearly 1,000 feet towards Lake Superior, offering magnificent views and a course that, while not flat, is not as extreme as the Rocky Mountains. Along the way, you'll be immersed in breathtaking scenery of lakes, rivers, wildlife, and significant mining history, including sites like Cliff's Shaft and Rope's Gold Mine Haul Road. Aid stations, stocked with natural spring water, energy drinks, fruit, and Clif Bar Gel, will be available on the longer courses.
